How It Works

KDF media utilizes the redox (oxidation-reduction) process, where copper and zinc granules create an electrochemical reaction. This transfers electrons between molecules, neutralizing harmful substances:

• Free chlorine → converted to harmless chloride ions

• Heavy metals → plate out onto the media surface and are removed from the water

• Hydrogen sulfide → eliminated from the water supply
